Centenary Celebration: Private Doctors to honour NEDC CEO, GONI ALKALI with Award

North East Development Commission (NEDC) Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mohammed Goni Alkali, will tomorrow, Thursday, August 12, be honoured by the body of private medical practitioners in Nigeria, for his outstanding, selfless contributions to the upliftment of humanity, particularly in the health sector.

As part of its Centenary anniversary celebration, the group, Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria (AGPMPN), plans to honour some distinguished Nigerians who have contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria’s health sector.

The association said that Alhaji Goni will be honoured for steering the commission in the right direction by walking his talk manifestly in accordance with the set mandates of the commission. The NEDC boss will receive the award for the special impact in the nation’s healthcare sector, corporate organisation category

In recognition of all he has done to improve healthcare delivery in Nigeria, Dr. Iyke Odo, National President of AGPMPN, wrote in the letter conveying his nomination, ” We recognize and appreciate your selfless, patriotic and philanthropic efforts and contributions overtime, in the health sector in Nigeria,

“For these laudable acts of patriotism, you have deservedly earned the nomination for our Centenary Award in the special impact, corporate organization category on Nigeria’s Health Sector.”

The event will take place on Thursday August 12, 2021, at the Africa Hall of the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja.

Dr. Odo, disclosed that the centenary event would be a platform for the private sector to help proffer solution to Nigeria’s myriad problems in healthcare delivery system.

The award programme will be preceded by a national dialogue on healthcare delivery in Nigeria to be chaired by a former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, same day.
